King’s Arms Tavern opens.

[1650] Operated by Hugh Gunnison, it is located on the west side of Washington Street, between Brattle Street and Court Street [west side of North Street, between Sun Court and Fleet Street]. The building is purchased by Henry Shrimpton in 1651, subsequently by the Hutchinson family, and the confiscated by the government following the Revolutionary War.
